DJI Phantom 4 RTK with RTK controller
The DJI's Phantom 4 RTK quadrilateral is a Phantom 4 quadrilateral that is designed to provide accurate mapping to an inch that can be extremely useful for topography, construction sites and inspections. Using a RTK receptor at the top of Phantom 4, the Phantom 4 RTK can achieve a horizontal RTK positioning precision of 1 cm + 1 ppm and vertical RTK of 1.5 cm + 1 ppm.
In addition to the RTK receiver, the Phantom 4 RTK can achieve such precision thanks to the DJI TimeSync system and the calibration process of the cardan camera.
The camera is the same as in a standard Phantom 4 but with the Phantom 4 RTK, each camera has its radial lens distortions and tangential measurements.
They are added to the metadata of all captured images, allowing precise later processing that takes into account distortions.
The Phantom 4 RTK can perform real-time mapping tasks and, when mapping, drivers can use the Photogrammetry and Waypoint Flight modes in the GS RTK application.
This provides specific mapping functionality, such as selecting flight routes and uploading KML area files directly.
Compile everything and you will have an enterprise-level mapping solution that can be used immediately.
Maple technology
centimetric accuracy
The RTK receiver helps to provide flight stability along with mapping accuracy at the centimeter level on the image metadata.
With the Phantom 4 RTK, you can achieve a horizontal positioning precision RTK of 1 cm + 1 ppm, a vertical positioning precision RTK of 1.5 cm + 1 ppm and an absolute horizontal precision of 5 cm of the photogrametric models (by flying to 100 m height, 2.7 cm GSD, on a sunny day.
The RTK receiver can also be connected to a D-RTK2 mobile station (optional), NTRIP (RTCM network transport via the Internet protocol), or you can store your data to use them in PPK (postprocessed burner) after the flight.
Timesync
The TimeSync system is designed to help ensure the capacity of Phantom 4 RTK to achieve an inch accuracy.
It continuously eases the flight controller, the camera and the RTK module, as well as fixing the positioning data in the center of the CMOS.
These optimizations give each photo the most accurate metadata possible.
Phantom 4 RTK Controller
The included screen controller is specifically designed for industrial users. It comes preloaded with the GS RTK app, includes a microSD card slot, built-in speaker and hot interchangeable batteries.
The controller can also connect to the Internet for Network RTK with the addition of an optional 4G dongle.
GS RTK application
With the Phantom 4 RTK, you get the standard flight modes and skills of a Phantom 4 quadcopter, in addition to the specific photogrammetry and Waypoint Flight modes for maps in the GS RTK app.
With these modes, pilots can select a flight plan while adjusting the overlap rate, altitude, speed, camera parameters and more.
Other features include a strong wind alarm, the ability to directly load KML area files for flight planning in the office and the ability to use the shutter priority mode to keep the exposure of your consistent images.
Ocusync for mapping large sites
The included remote control uses DJI's OcuSync transmission technology to transmit HD and video images at a distance of up to 4.3 miles.
With a strong enough signal, this gives you the opportunity to map large workplaces.
Camera with 1-inch CMOS sensor
The integrated camera presents a novelty in the Phantom line: a 1-inch CMOS sensor and 20 megapixels.
A custom design lens composed of eight elements is organized into seven groups.
The camera has a mechanical opening that eliminates the distortion of the rolling shutter that can occur when taking images of subjects that move quickly or when flying at high speed and a mechanical approach.
1-inch CMOS Sensor
The size of the sensor is usually more important for image quality than the amount of pixels, because a larger sensor has a dynamic range, a better signal-wheel ratio and improved performance with little light.
The Phantom 4 RTK 1 " and 20MP sensor is almost four times the size of the Phantom 4 1 / 2.3 brain sensor. It uses larger pixels and has a maximum ISO of up to , as well as a greater contrast.
Video recording 4K H.264 and H.265
The powerful video processing supports H.264 4K videos at 60 fps or H.265 4K at 30 fps, both recorded at a 100 Mbps bit rate.
Advanced sensors and processors ensure that everything is captured with more image details and image data necessary for postproduction handling.
4K optimized for production
An improved video processing system allows you to capture video in DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) optimized for film and production at 60 fps and a 100 Mbps bit rate.
The Phantom 4 RTK is also compatible with the H.265 video codec to 30 fps in 4K resolution. For a determined bit rate, H.265 doubles the amount of image processing that H.264, resulting in a significantly improved image quality from a more efficient compression.
Record in the dynamic high-ranking D-log mode to make the most of this image data for color gradation.
High resolution lens
The Phantom 4 RTK camera has a wide angle f / 2.8 lens optimized for antenna with a focal distance equivalent to 24 mm.
It has eight elements, two aspheric, arranged in seven groups that fit into a smaller and compact frame.
Its images are constantly detailed with low distortion and low dispersion, which ensures that photos and videos are sharp and vivid.
Mechanical shock
Capturing objects that move at high speed can be a challenge for flying cameras that use an electronic shutter.
This is why Phantom 4 RTK is the first DJI Phantom that uses a mechanical shutter and a large opening lens.
A maximum mechanical shutdown speed of seconds removes the motion blur and the " gelatin-bloom effect " caused by shooting an object that moves quickly with an electronic shutter.
The electronic shutter has also been improved with a maximum shutter speed of seconds, and there is a blast shot capable of shooting 14 fps to 20 megapixels to capture and perfect timing.
Remote control with Lightbridge HD video link
The Phantom 4 remote controller integrates an improved Lightbridge HD video transmission system that adds 5.8 GHz transmission support.
The ability to choose between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz allows riders to remove interference and eliminates image delay caused by flying in an area with an extensive frequency use of 2.4 GHz.
Normally, Wi-Fi video transmission systems use a 2.4 GHz frequency to work with a controller using a 5.8 GHz frequency, as this prevents interference that can occur when both use the same frequency.
Lightbridge HD Video Link
The Lightbridge HD video transmission system used in the Phantom 4 RTK uses TDM (Multiplexation by Time Division) to transmit signals, allowing you to send driver signals and receive video transmission signals in the same frequency.
Since the frequency band of 2.4 GHz is often affected by Wi-Fi, 4G mobile phone towers and other types of interference in urban areas, a 5.8 GHz band will increase the reliability of the transmission.
When it is turned on, Phantom 4 evaluates the levels of the local signal, automatically choosing the transmission frequency with the lowest level of interference.
This allows a maximum range of 4.3 miles video transmission.
Smart flight modes
Draw
With Draw, just draw a route on the screen and the Phantom 4 RTK will move in that direction while maintaining its blocked altitude.
This allows the pilot to focus on camera control and allows more complex shots.
There are two drawing modes that can be used in different scenarios:
Standard: The aircraft tracks the route at a constant speed with the flight direction camera.
Free: The aircraft only moves along the route when indicated. In this way, the camera can look in any direction during a flight.
Activtrack
Tracking objects that move quickly can be a great challenge, but advanced imaging algorithms used by Phantom 4 RTK allow you to recognize and track an object while keeping it in the frame.
This algorithm also recognizes a variety of subjects, from people to vehicles and animals, and will adjust its flight dynamic to match, ensuring smoother shots.
Pilots can now choose between:
Tracking: Keep behind or in front of a subject, avoiding obstacles automatically.
Profile: flies along with a subject in a variety of angles to get the subject's profile shots.
Foco: Keep the camera focused on a subject while the plane flies almost anywhere.
Tapfly
Fly in any visible direction on screen with a simple touch.
Tap anywhere on the screen to gently adjust the flight direction while automatically avoiding obstacles and touching the screen again or use the control levers to change direction.
A AR route function shows the aircraft's real-time flight address as a reference as its route is adjusted.
As it may be difficult to control the altitude, direction, speed and passage of the camera simultaneously with joysticks, TapFly Free allows a pilot to set the flight direction, allowing you to rotate the Phantom 4 RTK or tilt the cardan as necessary without changing the direction. light off.
In total, there are now three TapFly modes:
TapFly Forward: Touch to fly in the selected direction.
TapFly Backward: Touch to fly in the opposite direction to the touch, for example, touch the bottom right corner of the screen to fly backwards to the top left.
TapFly Free: Block the advance address of the Phantom without blocking the camera address, allowing you to rotate while flying.
Note: Avoiding obstacles is not available with TapFly Free.
Go home.
In your back home mode, the Phantom 4 RTK can automatically choose the best route to return home depending on the environmental conditions. Register your route while flying, allowing you to return on the same route and avoid obstacles if the control signal is disconnected.
Based on its altitude at the time of disconnection, Phantom 4 RTK can also adjust its flight path to avoid obstacles you have seen during your flight. In the takeoff, the Phantom 4 RTK will record the scene below and compare your recording with what you see when you return for a more accurate landing. You can also detect the soil to see if there is a suitable place to land. If there are obstacles, or if there is water on the ground, you will alert the pilot and stay at a suitable height, which will help the aircraft land safely.
Mode of gestures
With gesture mode, selfies can be captured using some gestures without remote control. Computer vision technology allows Phantom 4 RTK to receive instructions through gestures. The subject simply lifts his arms when he looks at the camera and the aircraft will recognize this movement by blocking and placing the subject in the center of the frame. When ready for a photo, the subject extends his arms to point to the aircraft. It will start a three-second countdown, making time to make a pose, allowing to capture moments without remote control.
Flight control system
Flight modes
Different productions require different flight features, and the Phantom 4 RTK offers three flight modes: P, A and S. Changing between them allows riders to get the control they need, whether they look for softness, simplicity, smart navigation or speed. In position mode (P), TapFly, ActiveTrack, obstacle detection and positioning functions are available. Sport mode (S) adds additional agility and higher speed, reaching 45 mph. The attitude mode (A) deactivates satellite stabilization and maintains the altitude of Phantom 4 RTK. It is ideal for experienced pilots looking to capture more fluid images. The tripod mode, which limits the speed to 4 mph, provides precision control for a fine frame and indoor flights. Both the infrared detection system and vision sensors are enabled in these modes for a safer flight experience.
Redundancy of sensors
The Phantom 4 RTK features dual compass modules and dual IMU units, making it more reliable compared to many hexacopters and octocopters. Compass and IMUs are important sensors to ensure a stable flight and Phantom 4 RTK constantly compares the data it receives through both pairs. These data are executed through several algorithms to verify accuracy, and any inaccurate data is simply discarded without affecting the flight, keeping the flight stable and reliable.
Smart Battery System
Professional air images benefit from longer flight times. The Phantom 4 RTK has a maximum flight time of 30 minutes, which provides more time in the air to capture the perfect shot. The DJI GO app shows the battery life and calculates the remaining flight times according to the travel distance and more. You will alert when you reach a safe minimum amount required for a safe journey back to the takeoff point. An advanced battery management system has also been implemented to avoid overloading and overdrawing. When placed in long-term storage, batteries will download energy to maintain good health.
